Joseph P. Schneider
Chair of the Board and Interim CEO
Joseph P. Schneider has served as a member of our board of directors since April 2014 and served as Chair of the Board since April 2019. From 2000 until 2012, Mr. Schneider served as President and Chief Executive Officer of LaCrosse Footwear Inc., a publicly traded footwear company until its acquisition by ABC-Mart in August 2012. Additionally, he served on the board of directors of LaCrosse Footwear Inc. from 1999 through 2012. Between 1985 and 2000, Mr. Schneider held various other positions with LaCrosse Footwear Inc. and its subsidiary, Danner, Inc., including serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Danner, Inc. from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Schneider received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northern Arizona University. We believe that Mr. Schneider’s tenure as a chief executive officer of a publicly traded company makes him a valuable advisor to our board of directors.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Steve Stoner is an highly accomplished HR leader with over 20 years of experience. He has held HR leadership positions with multiple retail organizations to include Best Buy, Home Depot Supply, General Parts and Giant Food, most recently he was the SVP & CHRO for Maines Paper & Food Service, a leading food distribution company and retailer. In this position, Steve created and implemented the strategic HR vision overseeing all areas of Human Resources. Mr. Stoner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Strayer University and is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.
Senior Vice President, Operations
Shane Miller has served as Senior Vice President, Operations at Sportsman’s Warehouse since June 2020. Shane brings deep retail knowledge to the Sportsman’s Warehouse team as he has over 30 years of experience working for large retailers. Prior to his role at Sportsman’s Warehouse, Shane held multiple posts of increasing responsibility at Walmart (NYSE: WMT). His various leadership roles included Store Manager, District Manager and Regional General Manager during his nearly 17-year tenure at Walmart.
Most recently, Shane served as Regional Director and Senior Director of New Store Growth and Development at Five Below (NYSE: Five). While at Five Below, Shane directed the successful opening of hundreds of stores.
Mr. Miller graduated from National Louis University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
Matthew G. French
Vice President, Compliance
Matthew G. French has served as our Vice President, Compliance since December 2003. Mr. French joined us in 1997 and has worked in various positions in the management of the hunting department. Mr. French has more than 20 years of experience in the sporting goods industry and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Montana State University.
Vice President of Field Merchandising and Real Estate
Travis Mann has served as a Vice President since January of 2014. During this time he has overseen our EComm and most recently Real Estate and Field Merchandising. Mr. Mann also served as a District Manager from June 2005 to December 2013, as a Store Manager from February 2003 to April 2007, and as a Hunting Manager from February 2000 to January 2003. Prior to joining us, from 1990 to 2000, Mr. Mann worked for H. J. Heinz Company in various positions, including six years as a Production Manager.
Chief Financial Officer
Jeff White oversees all financial aspects of the Company including, financial planning and analysis, accounting and financial reporting, tax, internal audit, investor relations, treasury, and risk management. Mr. White has been with Sportsman’s Warehouse since 2016. He has served as the company’s Secretary since September 26, 2021, and as Vice President of Finance, Chief Accounting Officer and Interim Chief Financial Officer from September 2021 to January 21, 2022. From August 2016 to September 2021, White served in various capacities including as the Company's Senior Director, Finance and Accounting.
Prior to Sportsman’s Warehouse, Mr. White served in various roles at KPMG LLP starting in August 2011, including Manager, Senior Associate, and Associate within the audit group. Mr. White is a licensed certified public accountant and holds a B.A. and master’s degree in accountancy from the University of Utah.
